REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR INSULATION
In order to maintain or lower your utility bill you can add extra insulation to attics, basements and crawl spaces. For example if too much heat escapes through the attic it can cause snow or ice… to melt on the roof. This can then cause the water to re-freeze resulting in more snow and ice to build up. Ultimately, this may result in a collapsed roof, and can contribute to ice damming. Ideally, the attic should be at least five to ten degrees warmer than the outside air. With well-insulated basements and crawl space it will also help protect pipes from freezing.
